Grampus was defeated unfortunately, 3-2. If Grampus win in this match, Grampus got the first position of J1. Good were Matsuda's goal assisted by Shimobitchi, and Nagai's goal. However, Nakamura (Frontale) showed a wonderful middle shot at last.

Unlike the last match against Hiroshima, in this match, both teams did not keep compact formations in midfield. This is because DFs of both teams had easily retreated into front of their goals. For continuous passes, Kawasaki's DFs had to take positions near their GK. On the other hand, Nagoya's DFs stayed around the penalty line to catch Kawasaki's FWand offensive MFs to move freely.

The ball frequently moved between the goals. Nagoya made shot chances in counter attacks from the defense, and Kawasaki also made shot chances through middle passes pointing to Nagoya's goal. The result is 3-2. Nagoya and Kawasaki showed their strengths and weaknesses. I found a weakness in the defense of Nagoya.

The defense of Nagoya was no good. According to comments of Nagoya's manager, Ogura, Nagoya tried pressing defense against Kawasaki's offense. However, I did not find hard chasing excepting that around the 12th minute. Although the commentary many times had said "Nagoya's defensive block", I saw only soft tofu defense. Grapmus's players had been at the mercy of movements of the ball and Kawasaki's players. To that end, they did not defend their positions.

Nagoya needs offenses taking advantage of the height of Shimobitchi. Shimobitchi's ball control is very good, such as an assistance to Matsuda's shot. However, if the opposing team feels threatened with more and more offense by taking advantage of height of Shimobitchi, Nagoya can get the advantage throughout the season.
